Summary: The general objective of the research was to legally analyze the abbreviated procedure and the equality of procedural subjects in the Ecuadorian Comprehensive Organic Criminal Code. The approach taken by the researchers for the development of the research methodology was based on the quantitative approach, through the inquiry, collection and critical analysis of documents and bibliographic references, based on the methodical, rigorous and deep exploration of various documentary sources consisting of articles, rules and laws among others, describing the findings. In the research, documentary review was used as a technique, a questionnaire was applied, whose population consisted of 15 subjects, among them prosecutors and lawyers in free exercise with specialization in the branch of criminal law, residents of the city of Tulcán. It is concluded that the abbreviated procedure is one of the important operations that is typified in the COIP, from article 635.
