In the research, the documentary-bibliographic review was used as a technique, in this sense, the documentary research is a process based on the inquiry, recovery, examination, criticism and interpretation of secondary data, (Arias, 2012) which allows obtaining valuable information to frame the events. Analyzing laws, norms, theses, scientific articles, among others. It is concluded that, thanks to the Constitution of Ecuador, Ecuadorian citizenship is recognized, protected and guaranteed and in this way should be the result of a policy that is oriented towards a comprehensive strategy, it has been evidenced that the rates of violence and lack of citizen security affects all social sectors. Domestic violence is a problem of citizen security.En la presente investigación se planteó como objetivo general analizar jurídicamente la violencia intrafamiliar: Un problema de seguridad ciudadana. El método a utilizado fue el cuantitativo, ya que, desde el apoyo documental-bibliográfico. En la investigación, se ha empleado como técnica la revisión documental-bibliográfica, en este sentido, la investigación documental es un proceso fundamentado en la indagación, recuperación, examen, crítica e interpretación de datos secundarios, (Arias, 2012) la cual permite obtener información valiosa para encuadrar los acontecimientos. Analizando leyes, normas, tesis, artículos científicos, entre otros. Se concluye que, gracias a la Constitución del Ecuador se reconoce, protege y garantiza a la ciudadanía ecuatoriana y de esta manera debe ser el resultado de una política que se oriente hacia una estrategia integral, se ha evidenciado que los índices de violencia y la falta de seguridad ciudadana afecta a todos los sectores sociales.
