Introduction: Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is a more common problem than is thought, with specific symptoms such as recurrent dizziness and loss of balance, which can seriously affect the quality of life of affected patients, therefore, considering that osteopathy can improve physiological function and homeo-stasis that has been altered by somatic dysfunction, it is proposed as an alternative treatment to alleviate this condition. Objective: To evaluate the effectiveness of osteopathic approaches in patients with paroxysmal po-sitional vertigo. Methods: A qualitative bibliographical research was carried out, reviewing studies in Medline, Scielo, Cochrane, academic Google and Blogs on topics related to osteopathy and benign paroxysmal posi-tional vertigo, selecting those of greatest interest to prepare the present study. Results: All the studies analyzed agree that osteopathic treatments, as non-pharmacological complementary therapies, are effective in relieving the symptoms of patients diagnosed with BPPV. Conclusions: Osteopathic therapy, in any of its techniques, represents an effective treatment to significantly reduce symptoms of imbalance and dizziness, improving the quality of life of patients suffering from BPPV.
