Summary: Adolescents have become a population with a higher health risk due to inequity and the different barriers they face in terms of accessibility to health services, especially sexual and reproductive health. The objective of the research was to determine the level of knowledge and use of contraceptive methods, the research had a quantitative approach, non-ex-perimental, descriptive design, with a cross-sectional field modality. The sample was 919 high school students first and second enrolled in the academic periods 2019-2021, to whom surveys were applied before and after the educational interventions after obtaining the informed consent of the representatives. As a relevant result, it was obtained that 39.49% began their sexual activity between 13 and 16 years old, it was evidenced that the majority of students had knowledge about contraceptive methods with 68%, in relation to the use of some contraceptive method, the largest part affirmed before carrying out the workshops that 57% had knowledge and after 79%); On the other hand, in reference to the dimen-sions of the knowledge and use of the male and female condom, 68% knew the male, only 45% the female and in relation to the use, 68% knew how to use it and 60% did not know about the use of the condom. female, the method used in the first sexual intercourse was the condom with 7% and currently 19%, it is the most used method, the source of information on sexuality was by parents with 31% followed by the internet 24%, Se It concludes that unplanned pregnancies or any sexually transmitted disease can occur at any time in these adolescents due to lack of knowledge, poor perception of risk, and inadequate use of contraceptive methods
