Hip replacement by means of arthroplasty is one of the most common surgical procedures performed in recent years, with high success rates both in the short and long term, which has enabled an increase in the quality of life of patients, thanks to the return of their activities.En una cadera sana, la membrana sinovial produce una pequeña cantidad de líquido que lubrica el cartílago y elimina casi toda la fricción durante el movimiento de la cadera. Las bandas de tejido, llamadas “ligamentos” (cápsula de la cadera), conectan la esfera con la cavidad y brindan estabilidad a la articulación, se presentan entre 20000 y 30000 casos nuevos de reemplazo de cadera cada año en Estados Unidos y aunque se han descrito múltiples tratamientos en los cuales se incluyen la descompresión central, el uso de injertos vascularizados o incluso osteotomías óseas, la artroplastia total de cadera, es considerada por muchos autores como el tratamiento más razonable. Se construye una base de datos bibliográfica digital con validez y reconocimiento académico, el cual, una vez analizados según su vigencia y relevancia se ordenan y presentan en un documento completo y conciso que expone el tema.
