The importance of making a correct identification using photography involves several aspects, from technique, position, changes in the individual, among others, avoiding incurring identification injustices when this method has been used in the wrong way. The present investigation achieves a bibliographic review about the importance of personal identification in the field of criminalistics, from its beginnings to the present, using the photography as an identification method. Photog-raphy as an identification tool has evolved from its discover to the present day, new identification methods are made in the government dependencies. The objective of this research is to propose to dental professionals the importance of taking photographs as part of their daily practice, with an adequate technique it is possible to contribute with not only dental records, but also photographic ones in cases where it is legally required. |
