Summary: The importance of the Diplomacy goes back in time past, where the necessity to create alliances to settle cultural, social, political and military the differences, when the discords between the tribes, the feudales gentlemen, until the conformation of the national states, remedying with it the fights from the conformation in agreements, truces and adjustments a rose that took the name from pacts. Within this international political reality, the Great Colombia from its same conformation looked for, like the other rising nations of America, the alive interest to create diplomatic conditions to defend in principle its legitimacy before the other nations of the orb, and secondly, as political strategy to maintain its independence of the imperialistic cuts and in sum, to fortify at international level like State free and independent nation of any other power, urged on by three centuries of domination of the metropolis, that when leaving an emptiness in the power, allowed the gestation of small kingdoms derived from its political-administrative structure of the colony, of there the importance of knowing and of studying from the diplomacy its interaction as been free and the influence of New Granada in the rest of the continent. The present article is derived from a process of investigation in the field of the historical hermenéutica, method that it looks for to explain the new phenomena of the historiography, from primary sources and of archives that allow to reconstruct and to include/understand our contemporary political history
