Methodology. The Scopus database was obtained as one of the own methodologies for bibliometric studies by gathering scientific literature with the theme “Social Innovation” with information collected in articles published from 2015 - 2023.
Findings. Relevant bibliographic analysis of Social Innovation was obtained in its different disciplines, areas, and countries with the highest scientific production and most representative authors. Bibliometric analysis for Agricultural Sciences and Biology.
Originality. A recent and updated study contributes to expanding the state of the art on Social Innovation. The search for this topic in the Scopus database broadens the vision of its applicability in the different science disciplines, international and national production, and participation of research centers and academics. Relevant information about the articles that address Social Innovation in Agricultural Sciences as a guide for future studies.
Conclusions and limitations. This paper generates a frame of reference for future studies of the CPI, universities, and public and private sectors based on recent studies focused on the theory of change and transformation as a strategy to solve social problems, better known as social innovation. The study shows the countries with the highest scientific production, its principal authors, production by disciplines of knowledge, and a more detailed approach to research in the agricultural sector, both international and national, highlighting the universities or research centers with the most significant publications on the subject in México.

Conocer el panorama mundial y nacional sobre investigaciones enfocadas en la Innovación Social a través de una bibliometría, como punto de referencia para promover estrategias en los Centros Públicos de Investigación (CPI) para la aplicabilidad en diferentes disciplinas del conocimiento, principalmente en las Ciencias Agrícolas. Metodología. Se utilizó la base de datos Scopus como una de las metodologías propias para estudios bibliométricos al reunir literatura científica con la temática “Social Innovation” con información recopilada en artículos publicados del 2015 - 2023. Hallazgos. Se obtuvo análisis bibliográfico relevante de la Innovación Social en sus distintas disciplinas, áreas, países con mayor numero de producción científica, y autores más representativos. Análisis bibliométrico para las Ciencias de la Agricultura y Biología. Originalidad. Estudio reciente y actualizado que contribuye a ampliar el estado del arte sobre el tema de Innovación Social. La búsqueda de este tema en la base de Scopus amplia la visión de su aplicabilidad en las diferentes disciplinas de la ciencia, producción internacional y nacional, participación de los centros de investigación y académicos. Información relevante sobre los artículos que abordan la Innovación Social en las Ciencias Agrícolas como guía para estudios futuros. Conclusiones y limitaciones. Este artículo genera un marco de referencia para futuros estudios de los CPI, universidades, sector público y privado, basado en estudios recientes enfocados en la teoría del cambio y la transformación como estrategia para resolver problemas sociales, más conocida como la Innovación Social.
