At the moment the most urgent question is to think about what to do with the elderly priests, including those who are physically impaired or those who are not, not only from the point of view of their personal attention, but also mentally and spiritually. They are older and well-educated priests. When planning the solution, it is advisable not to forget those aspects already mentioned above.En el presente trabajo se analiza la vida religiosa y comunitaria de varias órdenes religiosas masculinas en España -panorama similar al de Europa-, en relación a la situación general de sus miembros: comunidades, número y edad de los religiosos. Y queda abierta la reflexión ante el futuro inmediato. De momento una cuestión urgente es pensar qué hacer con los religiosos mayores -autónomos físicamente o los que necesitan ayuda-, no sólo desde el punto de vista de la atención personal, sino también mental y espiritual. Son religiosos mayores y personas con buena formación.
