This second section proposes a review based on analysis of two overlapping axes: geographical and disciplinary. Thus, on the one hand, the production in the United States is analyzed from both political science and law; and on the other, the literature produced in Latin America from both disciplines is analyzed. The results of the review show that pardoning is a strategic tool for government objectives, however it is a power absent from Latin American Political Science research. El artículo analiza el estado de la investigación de la Ciencia Política concerniente al indulto en América Latina. Para ello, la revisión de la literatura se realiza en dos partes. La primera, analiza trabajos sobre el presidencialismo tanto para Estados Unidos como para América Latina. La segunda, se enfoca sobre el indulto. Este segundo apartado plantea una revisión a partir de la superposición de dos ejes: geográfico y disciplinar. Así, por un lado, se analiza la producción en Estados Unidos tanto desde la Ciencia Política como desde el Derecho. Por otro lado, se analiza la literatura producida en América Latina desde ambas disciplinas.
