Sumario: Cardiovascular diseases are one of the most common causes of death worldwide and are responsible for more than 30% of mortality in developed countries. Cardiovascular diseases cause death, disability and a heavy economic burden on society and the health insurance system. The methodology used for this research work is part of a documentary bibliographic review, since we are going to deal with issues raised at a theoretical level such as coronary bypass grafting. The data collection technique is made up of electronic materials, the latter such as Google Scholar, PubMed, among others, relying on the use of descriptors in health sciences or MESH terminology. The information obtained here will be reviewed for further analysis. Coronary diseases continue to have a significant prevalence worldwide, given the high mortality associated with the different pathologies that can be generated as a consequence of heart disease. Coronary bypass or coronary bypass as a surgical technique used for the resolution of this pathology thanks to the use of grafts, has been essential to reduce mortality rates and prolong the life of patients with these conditions, providing them with a better quality of life; The surgical process as such is complex and delicate and is not exempt from complications; however, the success rates are high along with the fact that there are several types of grafts with excellent results, the choice of which will depend on each case.
