On the one hand, the Citizen Action Party's campaign focused on the threat to human rights, and on the other hand, the National Restoration Party's campaign focused on the threat to the family and the traditional values of the Costa Rican populationEl artículo forma parte de un proyecto más amplio que pretende analizar la contienda electoral del 2018 en Costa Rica a partir de la teoría de la justicia. El artículo se concentra en la forma en que el miedo puede ser utilizado como una estrategia política, más allá del control que se pueda ejercer sobre la población a través de este. Por tal motivo, se analiza la manera en que los partidos políticos contendientes en la segunda ronda electoral de las elecciones del año 2018 en Costa Rica utilizaron “el miedo” como una herramienta fundamental dentro de sus campañas electorales.
