Schizophrenia and its characterization is given by disorders in multiple mental modalities. Psychomotor disturbances, including catatonia, can also be derived from this mental disorder. The essential symptoms are: thought disorders and experiences of influence, passivity or control, and persistent hallucinations or delusions. The purpose of this study is to pro-vide updated academic scientific content with which to explain the diagnosis and treatment of schizophrenia in pediatric patients. Based on this, it was decided to apply a review methodology within the framework of a bibliographic design. The results derived from this have been treated as evidence and support this dissertation, which includes: definitions, causes, symptoms, risk factors, diagnosis and treatment of schizophrenia in pediatric patients. In short, schizophrenia is recog-nized among all mental health disorders that exist, as one of the most complex to diagnose and treat. In pediatrics, it turns out to be a pathology that is difficult to diagnose, because the very development of children and adolescents can limit the manifestation of their signs and symptoms. Its treatment in this same group of patients is as varied as that which has been proposed for adults, and likewise, it requires lifelong management

Its treatment in this same group of patients is as varied as that which has been proposed for adults, and likewise, it requires lifelong managementLa esquizofrenia y su caracterización está dada por trastornos en múltiples modalidades mentales.
