To do so, the text introduces, firstly, the context of the strong change of paradigm that the Spanish Monarchy underwent with the death of its last absolute protector, King Ferdinand VII. Secondly, it analyses the semantic and practical transformations that turned one of the main tools of government into an auxiliary role to the new power of the Spanish State: the administrative one.El objeto de este artículo es estudiar la mutación conceptual e institucional que sufrió la práctica consultiva en España con motivo de la supresión de los Consejos de la Monarquía Católica en la década de 1830. Para ello, el texto introduce, en primer lugar, en el contexto de fuerte cambio de paradigma que vivió la monarquía con la muerte de su último valedor absoluto, el rey Fernando VII.
