Summary: |
For years and with increasing intensity, a double phenomenon has been taking place. On the one hand, a galloping and irreversible aging of the world population, and, on the other hand, parallel to it, an increasingly pronounced settlement of said population group in the urban area. The convergence of such circumstances requires that cities cannot remain impassive and must adapt their infrastructures, endowments, equipment and spaces, as well as their public services, to the increasing number of older people who reside in them. In this effort, it is a priority that they end up becoming friendly cities for the elderly and, in the same way, implement, increasingly, healthy buildings. |
