Summary: |
This paper presents a contextualization of innovation in renewable energies in the world. As reflections, the patents are analyzed as a key tool to encourage the definitive transition to the sources of this type of clean energy. The research objective is to characterize the role of green patents as a determining factor in the public and business sphere, to promote innovation and development in the field of renewable energies. The methodology is documentary analysis, supported by a systematic interpretation of the bibliographic findings obtained from the systematic review of specialized sources between 2000 and 2021, such as articles, research books, reports, policies, and current regulations on the matter. As a result, the authors reflect on the difficulties and opportunities of the patents, in the fields of environmental innovation and renewable energy. The original contribution of the paper is presented in the reflections supported by theoretical approaches and reports, including the Awake Report on patenting renewable energies in the world. Finally, it is concluded that if in developing countries, such as Colombia, green patents are encouraged in the research and development of renewable energies, it will be possible to advance to the position of developed countries. |
