In addition, the use of perception and victimization surveys provides valuable information that reduces unreported crimes. Criminology can make use of different disciplines and tools (mentioned above) that allow it to make an interpretation of the causes and effects of crime.El presente trabajo de investigación tiene el propósito de realizar un estudio de la percepción de seguridad y el uso de algunas herramientas que los criminólogos pueden utilizar, para identificar las repercusiones del delito, en especial aplicando algunas técnicas de visualización de información como lo son los mapas temáticos, técnica que ayuda a identificar y georreferenciar los problemas estructurales de un espacio geográfico por medio de las marchas exploratorias de seguridad. Además, el uso de las encuestas de percepción y victimización que proporciona información valiosa que disminuye los delitos no denunciados.
