description
Radical Prostatectomy (RP) is one of the most widespread therapeutic options for treating localized prostate cancer. RP has been a surgical technique in constant development, the application of robotic technology in clinical practice has occurred in recent decades. Although the initial application of robotics in medicine was extremely diverse, the main impact of this fascinating technology was in the assistance of minimally invasive surgeries. The methodology used for this research work is part of a bibliographic review of documentary type, since we are going to deal with issues raised at a theoretical level such as traditional surgery vs. robotic surgery for prostate tumors. Management and complications. The technique for data collection is made up of electronic materials, the latter such as Google Scholar, PubMed, among others, relying on the use of descriptors in health sciences or MESH terminology. The information obtained here will be reviewed for further analysis. In the bibliography consulted, robotic laparoscopic prostatectomy compared with normal and open laparoscopic prosta-tectomy, has high results in terms of fewer complications, hospital stay, among others, because it is minimally invasive, eliminating the complications of conventional laparoscopy, such as visualization , hand-eye coordination and the limitations of manual movement, generating comfort for surgeons in surgeries for patients with minimal incisions, less anesthesia, less blood loss. However, robotic surgery has a high cost, which makes it have a low demand compared to laparoscopic surgery, much more accessible and also with good post-operative results and lastly, traditional open prostatectomy, last within the field of choice. for their results in terms of complications and other variables.
