Summary: The skin of the newborn has some anatomical and physiological peculiarities whose knowledge is essential to establish appropriate care. In addition, the skin plays an important role in regulating water balance and temperature, and provides a barrier against germs that can invade the body and against the systemic absorption of substances that are applied topically. The methodology used for this research work is part of a bibliographic review of documentary type, since we are going to deal with issues raised at a theoretical level such as Skin lesions in neonates and infants. The technique for data collection is made up of electronic materials, the latter such as Google Scholar, PubMed, among others, relying on the use of descriptors in health sciences or MESH terminology. The information obtained here will be reviewed for further analysis. There are multiple lesions that occur in pediatric ages, some occur as a result of bacterial infections, the environment where the child lives and is raised, gender, among others, the most frequent are atopic dermatitis, dermatomycosis, and candidiasis, which affect the intimate parts, the face, around the mouth, and finally in the areas of the feet and hands. There are others that are generated as a result of skin or congenital cancers, the most common disappear after a few days, with the respective care such as moisturizing the skin, using neutral soap, protecting the area of the injury, having short nails to avoid scratching, keeping the child's skin clean and dry which are very important to prevent skin conditions
