Summary: Stem cell therapies are potentialized to treat a wide spectrum of diseases. From rhizarthrosis to diabetes, neurodegenerative diseases, spinal cord injuries or heart disease. Osteoarthritis is a rheumatic pathology that damages the articular cartilage. Normally osteoarthritis is located in the cervical and lumbar spine, some joints of the shoulder and fingers, the hip, the knee and the joint of the beginning of the big toe, however, knee osteoarthritis is the type most frequent that exists, therefore, the main approach is patellar tendinopathy. In traumatology, stem cells are mainly used to treat joint osteoarthritis and bone pseudarthrosis. The treatment of knee osteoarthritis with mesenchymal stem cells has achieved significant relief of symptoms in more than 90% of patients with advanced osteoarthritis. It is ideal to make an updated review of the scientific literature on osteoarthritis therapies with stem cells as well as hysiotherapeutic treatments that can counteract the effect of this frequent pathology. Lipogems therapy is one of the latest and most promising advances in regenerative medicine to slow the progress of degenerative joint diseases and promote the healing of injuries in repaired tissues. One of the most used physiotherapeutic treatments in the case of tendinopathies is eccentric strength training, which favors the functionality of the patient, as well as the reduction of pain and other symptoms as a consequence of osteoarthritis.
