The simplicity of this statement conceals a complex web of relationships between evidence and the rights of parties to criminal investigation. In a State of democratic law, such as Angola (article 2 of the Constitution of the Republic of Angola), the human person and respect for his dignity emerge as the ultimate end of any activity performed there, which implies the existence of control, order and security mechanisms. Therefore, in Angola the criminal investigation activity must respect the principles and rules of democratic law, as well as the fundamental rights of the human person.
