Summary: Labour legislation is a matter subject to constant and permanent reforms, some of a broader nature in its content, others affecting specific institutions. However, if its claim to establish a profound change in our labor legal model is taken into account, the reforms have been more limited in number. From this perspective, it must be understood that the 2021 labour reform intends to be placed in the category of the great reforms undertaken in our labor regulations since the establishment of our constitutional model of labor relations. From this approach, the present work intends to carry out an overall assessment of the present reform; Without going into the details of interpretation of the specific new rules introduced with the reform, which is derived from the rest of the studies in this monographic issue of the Journal, it is intended to make a general presentation of the context in which it is developed, from identify its objectives and assess the possible impact that said reform may have in the immediate future.
