The main achievement of OPE was Bronston’s pro-Spanish films.La Operación Propaganda Exterior (OPE, 1958-1961) fue una operación de propaganda secreta del franquismo intermedio orientada a mejorar la imagen del régimen en el exterior, principalmente en EE. UU., ante el contexto previo de bloqueo internacional de España como antiguo aliado fascista y como dictadura. También se orientó a vigilar y moldear la opinión pública española recurriendo a los modernos métodos de propaganda política. Este artículo analiza el contexto histórico-ideológico previo de la OPE, así como su naturaleza, protagonistas y desarrollo en sus ámbitos principales: información, cultura y cine.
