Summary: Given the lack of express constitutional regulation on the regime of possible territorial alterations of the autonomous map, the majority doctrine, based mainly on STC 99/1986, has been defending a very broad interpretation of the referral that article 147.2.b of the Constitution makes the Statutes of Autonomy to carry out the delimitation of the autonomous territory. This paper justifies why this empowerment of the Statutes is not enough so that, through their reform, the creation of a new Autonomous Community is carried out from the integration of other pre-existing ones.
