Laburpena: The concept of resistance elaborated by Marxist theory is opposed to the conditions imposed on disadvantaged social groups in modern society. Its theoretical construction, from Karl Marx, Gramsci, to more recent authors, prioritizes the action of confrontation to domination. In this way, resistance is made insofar as it is a response to modern hegemony and can produce counter-hegemony: an organization of forces to establish a new power. However, Marxist theory shows us that not all resistance produces counter-hegemony since it depends on specific conditions. This research aims to contribute to theoretical reflections by analyzing the concept of resistance in its relationship with the Gramscian concepts of hegemony and counter-hegemony. The reflective construction offered by this research is applied in the reality of resistance practices in the community of Yumate, Molleturo parish (Cuenca, Ecuador), where moments of inhomogeneity and counter-hegemony are evident, with the aim of testing and improving the application of concepts, and thus contribute to existing knowledge.
