In this way, resistance is made insofar as it is a response to modern hegemony and can produce counter-hegemony: an organization of forces to establish a new power. However, Marxist theory shows us that not all resistance produces counter-hegemony since it depends on specific conditions. This research aims to contribute to theoretical reflections by analyzing the concept of resistance in its relationship with the Gramscian concepts of hegemony and counter-hegemony. The reflective construction offered by this research is applied in the reality of resistance practices in the community of Yumate, Molleturo parish (Cuenca, Ecuador), where moments of inhomogeneity and counter-hegemony are evident, with the aim of testing and improving the application of concepts, and thus contribute to existing knowledge.El concepto de resistencia elaborado por la teoría marxista se opone a las condiciones impuestas a los grupos sociales desfavorecidos en la sociedad moderna. Su construcción teórica, desde Karl Marx, Gramsci, hasta autores más recientes, prioriza la acción de enfrentamiento a la dominación. De este modo la resistencia se hace en tanto es una respuesta a la hegemonía moderna y puede producir contrahegemonía: una organización de fuerzas para establecer un nuevo poder. Sin embargo, la teoría marxista nos muestra que no toda resistencia produce contrahegemonía pues esta depende de condiciones específicas. Esta investigación pretende contribuir con reflexiones teóricas al analizar el concepto de resistencia en su relación con los conceptos gramscianos de hegemonía y contrahegemonía.
