Summary: Subcontracting through worker cooperatives is a widespread practice, especially in certain productive sectors. Given our current regulatory framework for cooperatives, in order to analyse the guarantee measures in favour of worker partners in the context of outsourcing, we must turn to the respective autonomous community legislations.  Quantitatively speaking, there are few regional legislations that deal with this issue, although qualitatively speaking, they are exemplary models.  This diverse and unequal legislation highlights the need for public authorities to take action in order to dignify and harmonise the regulation of minimum working standards for worker partners in subcontracting contexts.  This will not only improve the welfare of this group, but will also help to prevent cooperatives from becoming a subterfuge for companies seeking precarious labour.  In this way, cooperatives will faithfully respond to their growing role as a decent, inclusive and sustainable work alternative for a people-centred economic recovery.
