This paper aims to characterize the work dynamics of an
environmental clinic, created in October 2019, at the Institute of Ecology and
Sustainable Development (INEDES), which is a novel experience at the national
level, in Argentina. This clinic is conformed by a group of specialists from
different disciplines related to the environment, with the aim of providing the
community with guidance for the search for solutions related to the problems
that arise in the field of urban, industrial and / or rural ecosystems. The clinic is
not a research area, although the problems gave rise to several proposals for
research projects, some of them underway. The inquiries received are of three
kinds: 1) Laboratory or biological techniques, 2) environmental regulatory
analysis, and 3) complex problems (i.e. access to water) that require the concurrence of various points of view. In this way, an interdisciplinary approach
is necessarily incorporated in the answers that are prepared for the reports since
this approach is necessary to attend to the multiplicity of environmental
problems that affect the inhabitants. This type of consultation contributes to
environmental monitoring and access to information about various problems
and to analyse possible solutions to face them. Therefore, the existence of
environmental clinics can help to promote greater participation by society in the
search for solutions to environmental conflicts of different degrees.

Therefore, the existence of environmental clinics can help to promote greater participation by society in the search for solutions to environmental conflicts of different degrees.Este artículo tiene como objetivo caracterizar la dinámica de trabajo de un consultorio ambiental, creado en octubre de 2019, en el Instituto de Ecología y Desarrollo Sustentable (INEDES), que es una experiencia novedosa a nivel nacional, en Argentina. Este consultorio está integrado por un grupo de especialistas provenientes de distintas disciplinas relacionadas con el medio ambiente, y tiene el objetivo de brindar a la comunidad orientación para la búsqueda de soluciones relacionadas con los problemas que surgen en el ámbito de los ecosistemas urbanos, industriales y/o rurales. El consultorio no es un ámbito de investigación, aunque las problemáticas planteadas allí originaron varias propuestas para proyectos de investigación, algunos de ellos que se encuentran en marcha. Las consultas recibidas se dividen en tres áreas: 1) técnicas de laboratorio o biológicas, 2) análisis normativo ambiental y 3) problemáticas complejas (i.e. acceso al agua) que necesitan de la concurrencia de varios puntos de vista. De ese modo, lo interdisciplinar se manifiesta necesariamente en las respuestas que se elaboran para los informes ya que es necesario este abordaje para atender a la multiplicidad de problemas ambientales que afectan a los habitantes. Este tipo de consultas contribuyen al monitoreo ambiental y al acceso a la información acerca de diversos problemas y para analizar posibles soluciones para enfrentarlos.
