Summary: In this article we study the conflicting situations of work relationships and the corrective function of subordination and alienation. Its content is developed around the notion of gray areasa nd it’s binding as a legal category in the determination of the boundaries of labor law. The doctrine and jurisprudence are studied as a starting point for the construction of this legal category.I t is referred to, in those cases in which the circumstances and characteristics of the service provision apparently not subordinated create an uncertainty about whether they are framed or are outside the boundaries of Labor Law. The figure of the presumption of laboralidad and its scope in front of the gray areas of ther ight of work is approached. In this aspect it is emphasized that the atypical work relationshipsa and the so-called "gray areas" are not always concordant. Certainly, this is due to the complexity of its analysis and its casuistic nature. Hence, what is relevant to the existence of atypical relationships and gray areas is the scope of the notions subordination or dependence and alienation. Binomial that must be made flexible to give a new dimension to Labor Law. This would allow facing and giving clarity to those gray areas that give rise to some modalities of service provision.
