Summary: The purpose of this paper is to highlight the importance of analyzing human rights, especially social rights, from a gender perspective. To do this, we will carry out an analysis of the different instruments through which women's rights have been protected and how gender perspective has been incorporated, in the first place, by legal instruments, in second place, by political measures, this is, the activity developed by international organizations; thirdly, through supervisory and control bodies; and finally, through the standards derived from the jurisprudence of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights and the European Court of Human Rights.
