The latest legislative reforms in Brazil allow the Public Administration to create specialized chambers to prevent and resolve conflicts through mediation. In addition, the reforms enable Notaries and Registries to offer mediation services to the community. Nevertheless, there is still much to reduce in the high level of litigation and, in order to achieve this objective, it is necessary to reinforce and socialize the importance of these mechanisms.Frente a la denominada “cultura de la sentencia” arraigada en la sociedad brasilera, las autoridades del Poder Ejecutivo y del Poder Legislativo han emprendido un importante esfuerzo en pro de brindar acceso al ciudadano a los mecanismos autocompositivos de solución de controversias, tanto en forma presencial como en forma digital. Las últimas reformas legislativas permiten a la Administración pública crear cámaras especializadas para prevenir y resolver conflictos por vía de la mediación, como también habilitan notarías y registros para ofrecer servicios de mediación a la colectividad.
