Summary: Inmate misconduct events carried out by inmates represent rule infractions. They have been studied in developed countries, but not in developing countries. The goal of the study is to present a conceptual framework that describes the relationship between administrativecontrol theory variables and inmate misconduct. For this purpose, 3 hypotheses are tested. A questionnaire was applied to a sample of 129 inmates from CERESO Hermosillo I in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico.
