The present study commemorates one of the greatest Colombian constitutionalists of the 19th century –As forerunner of the Constitution of the United States of Colombia in 1863, and father of the Panamanian nationality, Arosemena may be a more remarkable intellectual reference in Latin American. Achieve the present objective needs to use the method has a qualitative approach, using the discursive analysis as a data analysis technique, and the following text have three sections. The first one is a study on Arosemena’s comparatism doctrine. The second is an analysis of three of his works on Constitutional Law. And section three is for conclusions.Este artículo se propone establecer las bases de un método comparatista arosemeniano, analizando tres obras de Justo Arosemena sobre derecho constitucional. Este estudio conmemora uno de los grandes constitucionalistas colombianos del siglo XIX, a quien se le atribuya, además de ser el padre de la nacionalidad panameña, haber sido protagonista de la Constitución de los Estados Unidos de Colombia de 1863, particularidades que deberían hacer una referencia más visible del ideario latinoamericano. Para alcanzar el objetivo propuesto, la metodología trabajada tiene un enfoque cualitativo y usa el análisis discursivo como técnica de análisis de datos.
