Summary: The aim of this paper is to enlighten the fact that Plautus’ comedy Amphitruo exerted a decisive influence on the phisosophical trends of Don Quixote, just as it exerted over Descartes’ Philosophy, as Benjamín García Hernández stated. Since Don Quixote predates the formulations of the French philosopher, it might be inquired if the Spanish master novel could have influence Descartes as well. Our conclusion in this regard is that it is evident that Plautus’s Amphitruo influenced Don Quixote, making evident the impact of the Cervantes’ novel on Descartes.
