It is important for social psychology to investigate and describe the social representations constructed by people who have been victims of violence due to armed conflict in Colombia. From this context, in the present research article, it is proposed to identify the functions of these representations, as well as the way in which the subjects understand, explain and transform their knowledge, lived experiences and psychosocial realities. The results of a qualitative study with an ethnographic design of a descriptive type are presented, which was used as a sample to victims of violence by armed conflict registered at the point of attention to victims of the municipality of Palmira who agreed to participate voluntarily in this project. Tools such as participant observation, semi-structured interviews and ethnographic questionnaire were used. To determine the findings, we took into account categories of the functions of social representations and as subcategories: knowledge function, identity function, orientation function and substitution function, understanding the responses of the subjects interviewed, describing the social representations they perform, and identifying the processes experienced by the victims, as well as a global analysis of what was found in the instrument to associate said reality with the theory. It is concluded that social representations are a way in which these social subjects learn about the events of daily life, among these, their experiences, being victims of violence, the characteristics of the environment and identification as social groups They construct new meanings in the face of the phenomenon of violence experienced in the past and in which they rebuild their new quality of life.

A partir desse contexto, no presente artigo de pesquisa, propõe-se identificar as funções dessas representações, bem como a maneira pela qual os sujeitos compreendem, explicam e transformam seus conhecimentos, experiências vividas e realidades psicossociais. São apresentados os resultados de um estudo qualitativo com delineamento etnográfico de tipo descritivo, utilizado como amostra para vítimas de violência por conflito armado registrado no ponto de atenção às vítimas do município de Palmira que concordaram em participar voluntariamente em este projeto. Ferramentas como observação participante, entrevista semiestruturada e questionário etnográfico foram utilizados. Para determinar os achados, foram consideradas categorias das funções das representações sociais e como subcategorias: função de conhecimento, função de identidade, função de orientação e função de substituição, compreensão das respostas dos sujeitos entrevistados, descrição das representações sociais que realizam, e identificar os processos vivenciados pelas vítimas, bem como uma análise global do que foi encontrado no instrumento para associar tal realidade à teoria. Conclui-se que as representações sociais são um meio pelo qual esses sujeitos sociais aprendem sobre os acontecimentos do cotidiano, dentre estes, suas experiências, sendo vítimas de violência, as características do ambiente e a identificação como grupos sociais Eles constroem novos significados em face do fenômeno da violência vivenciado no passado e no qual eles reconstroem sua nova qualidade de vida.Es importante para la psicología social indagar y describir las representaciones sociales construidas por personas que han sido víctimas de la violencia por conflicto armado en Colombia. Desde este contexto, en el presente artículo de investigación, se plantea identificar las funciones de estas representaciones, así como la forma en que los sujetos comprenden, explican y transforman sus conocimientos, experiencias vividas y realidades psicosociales. Se presentan los resultados de un estudio de tipo cualitativo con un diseño etnográfico de tipo descriptivo, en el que se empleó como muestra a víctimas de la violencia por conflicto armado inscritas en el punto de atención a víctimas del municipio de Palmira que aceptaron participar voluntariamente en este proyecto. Se emplearon herramientas como la observación participante, entrevistas semiestructuradas y cuestionario etnográfico. Para determinar los hallazgos se tuvo en cuenta categorías de las funciones de las representaciones sociales y como subcategorías: función de conocimiento, función identitaria, función de orientación y función sustitutiva, comprendiendo las respuestas de los sujetos entrevistados, describiendo las representaciones sociales que ellos realizan, e identificando los procesos vivenciados por las víctimas, además de un análisis global de lo encontrado en el instrumento para asociar dicha realidad a la teoría.
