Summary: The crime of deformity prescribed in article 113 of our criminal law will be the object of substantial changes that will reflect not only the transformation to an autonomous crime but an increase in penalties depriving of liberty, the prohibition of the conditional suspension of the punishment, the house arrest and any judicial benefit in favor of the victim, ratifying also the arduous task of generating a public policy to attend to the victims. The purpose of this work is to know the origins of this behavior, its concept, characteristics, the motivations of its perpetrators and its normative progress. The research is qualitative, with a descriptive and explanatory scope in which through the collection of data in primary, secondary and tertiary sources, an analysis is carried out in which the importance of the normative advance of this crime that happened from being a personal injury to being an autonomous offense.
