Summary: Nowadays, the impact of Covid-19 on world economic activities is so great in the field of food sovereignty. The needs that we are living are evident in Latin American and around the world: on one hand, guarantee life and the integrity of human beings and, on the other hand, the food security in a situation that nobody had foreseen. In this scenario, we are in the stage of being able to develop and promote policies, programs and instruments considering the effects of the pandemic in the future and discussing the processes of reforms for public policy to establish a genuine programme towards a sustainable economic development promoting the rurality and the peasant economy, based on diversity, territoriality and multiculturalism, with an emphasis on the country’s youth. This proposal arose in 2019 as part of the teaching provided in the field of Family Agriculture and Peasant Economy in the career of Engineering in Agri-Food Processes at the University for Well-being Benito Juárez García. This subject is taught in more than 23 states and its purpose is to know the characteristics of family agriculture and the peasant economy from different approaches to reflect on the potential of the peasant economy in the social and environmental spheres on a regional and national scale. Part of learning activities that are carried out under the teacher’s guidance, it is a constant explanation of the characteristics of family agriculture and the peasant economy from different approaches, after reading the bibliography by the students. It is orient about research and analysis of regional and national data on family farming and peasant economy. This is the origin of the proposal to establish public policies that allow a real transformation in the country based on local production and the creation of scale markets based on the training and preparation of the most harmed group in the country, young people, men and women, who for many reasons have been without the opportunity for higher level academic preparation and who are at the expense of monopolies that hire cheap labor, funder which they will face serious consequences of the lack of educational and that unfortunately, certain strata seek to subsist through crime and vices
