Through the present investigation the concentrations of lead and cadmium are determined in the soils of citadels adjacent to the industrial park of the city of Cuenca (Abdón Calderón and Uncovía). For this purpose, five soil samples are analyzed at different distances between the industrial zone and each one of the sectors from 200 to 700 meters; the determinations are made in triplicate. The applied method was: Acid Digestion and Atomic Absorption in the laboratory of the Center for Services and Analysis of Metallic and Non-Metallic Minerals (CESEMIN) of the University of Cuenca; the average values of lead and cadmium obtained were higher than the Environmental Quality Standard of Ecuador (TULAS). |
