Summary: The following work has as its main objective to reflect on the current scenario of violence that occurs in Colombia after the signing of the Peace Agreement signed between the FARC-EP and the Colombian Government, in November 2016. First, the paper reviews the existing literature on the risks and possibilities offered by an agreement like this one in the disciplinary field of conflict resolution and peace research. Later, the article contrasts the structural and institutional reality presented by the Colombian State with the implications of the commitments agreed between the extinct guerrilla and the government of Juan Manuel Santos. Only in this way is possible to understand the contradictions and difficulties that the country is going through. In this way, an irresolute scenario of violence is shown that, in many places, after the Agreement, seems to intensify
