Summary: Some important political theorists, Müller and McCormick among them, have tried to link Carl Schmitt’s image of Europe and different political projects (the European Union, the 2003 failed constitutional treaty). With this article, not only a bibliographical vacuum would be fulfilled, but also it would make possible to establish a more realistic and accurate dialogue between the schmittian concept of Europe and concrete projects of political organizations in Europe.
