The extension of children’s rights strengthened more than 30 years ago by the International Convention on the Rights of the Child (uncrc) leads us to review the current significance that children have of them. Boys and girls from 9 to 12 years old participated in this research. A nested mixed method was carried out with a predominance of a qualitative component. The children attended two public schools in Argentina. The results
show that their reflections move towards the recognition of rights that do not appear in the uncrc, and they enrich the senses of some already present. They also understand many of the rights as collective and not only as individual, and interpellate adults in the ways of understanding and interacting with children.

Para isto, realizou-se um estudo de método misto aninhado com predomínio de componente qualitativo. As crianças assistiam a duas escolas públicas da Argentina. Os resultados mostram que suas reflexões avançam para o reconhecimento de direitos que não aparecem na Convenção e enriquecem os sentidos de alguns que já estavam presentes; ao mesmo tempo, entendem muitos dos direitos como coletivos e não só individuais. Suas análises nos interpelam a quem transitamos a vida adulta nas formas de compreender e interatuar com a infância.La ampliación de derechos de la niñez fortalecida hace más de 30 años por la Convención Internacional de los derechos del niño nos lleva a revisar las significaciones actuales de sus derechos en niñes, niños y niñas de 9 a 12 años de edad. Para esto se realizó un estudio de método mixto anidado con predominio de componente cualitativo. Los niños, niñas y niñes asistían a dos escuelas públicas de Argentina.
