Laburpena: Gender violence has increased in the world in recent months. In Mexico, during this period of isolation and staying at home in the face of the coronavirus pandemic, women are at greater risk of experiencing family violence. In other words, they are even more vulnerable during this health emergency. The objective of this research was to know the impact of confinement due to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic on the dynamics of families in Ciudad Juárez, Chihuahua. The approach is documentary in nature, which is why the investigation, collection, organization, analysis and interpretation of information or data on violence against women in official newspapers and databases were carried out. As part of the results, it was found that reports of family violence increased by about 30 % during the first months of the pandemic. Despite this increase, however, the different levels of government have not had a clear strategy to address it.
