It is concluded that the implementation of restorative justice mechanisms, specifically related to historical memory, constitutes an important advance compared to transitional justice models. However, it is also argued that it is still necessary to deepen into reflections on the importance of historical memory in a country that still suffers from the effects of past and present violence, as well as to consolidate memory as an instrument that effectively contributes to peace and to comprehensive reparation of the victims.En este artículo se analizan las transformaciones más importantes que ha experimentado la concepción de justicia transicional, las principales virtudes de los mecanismos de justicia restaurativa y los retos conceptuales y prácticos que enfrenta una política pública de construcción y preservación de la memoria histórica en Colombia. El artículo concluye que la implementación de medidas de justicia restaurativa, específicamente relacionadas con la memoria histórica, constituye un avance importante frente a los modelos de justicia transicional.
