La Ordinanza n.º 207 (2018) y la Sentenza n.º 242 (2019) de la Corte Costituzionale han venido, sin embargo, a permitir una excepción: se podrá prestar ayuda al suicidio a los enfermos terminales con graves padecimientos, siempre que dependan de un tratamiento médico de soporte vital y que tengan capacidad y libertad para decidir.
