Summary: The protection of the environment comes as a necessary concern after so many ecological crises suffered in Brazil. It is guaranteed as a fundamental right by the Federal Constitution and is the responsibility of the State. This paper aims to demonstrate if the Environmental Agenda in Public Administration - A3P can be used as an instrument of good Governance, mainly through sustainable bids, helping the Public Power to guarantee a healthy ecosystem for future generations. For that, qualitative research was used, through bibliographic studies, judicial decisions and legal texts. Quantitatively, the data of the Ministry of the Environment was also used to verify if this program has been applied by the Public Power. It was concluded that sustainability is a fundamental part of good governance and that sustainable procurement, since it is the axis that causes the most expense to the Administration, should be prioritized so that the State contributes as little as possible to the degradation to the environment. Finally, it is believed that more public organizations should join A3P in order to disseminate sustainable practices of good management in all spheres of the country.
