Summary: The Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) negotiations have introduced the possibility for economic integration between the United States and the European Union, eliciting ques-tions about how such an agreement might affect E.U. nonimmigrant admissions into the U.S. An analysis of Canadian nonimmigrant admissions patterns in the context of free trade has provided a potential model for what might occur in the case of E.U. nonimmigrants, if such an agreement is reached, and it does not seem likely that such a pact would greatly affect E.U. nonimmigrant admissions into the U.S. What’s more, the TTIP provisional texts do not seem to amplify measures in place under the current Visa Waiver Program, nor provide for the creation of additional visa classifications.
