The demand for more and better training on the part of practicing professionals is basically due to the constant social change that drives it, and this need can be met through a process of continuing education. Thanks to the rapid incorpora-tion of knowledge or skills, in response to the requirements of companies or institutions, this system differs from the formal system. The interest in developing this research work responds to the need to keep constantly updated contributions within the research spaces. Around topics that in a way impact in the socio-academic context. In this sense, it was decided to carry out a documentary investigation with which, under a review methodology, it is sought to find some conceptual ap-proaches to Continuing Education, which in turn corresponds to its adequacy for a constantly changing society. Among other points, it is concluded that Continuing Education has been sustained in a considerable number of countries since its inception and its strong evolution is increasingly notable, since its proper management, is moving away a possible decontextualization of local educational settings and, at the same time, it facilitates its expansion into international fields.

Gra-cias a la rápida incorporación de conocimientos o competencias, como respuesta a los requerimientos de las empresas o instituciones, éste sistema se diferencia del sistema formal. El interés por desarrollar el presente trabajo investigativo responde a la necesidad de mantener, dentro de los espacios de investigación, aportes constantemente actualizados. En torno a temas que de cierta forma impactan en el contexto socioacadémico. En este sentido, se dispuso efectuar una investigación documental con la que, bajo una metodología de revisión, se procura encontrar algunas aproximaciones conceptuales respecto a la Educación Continua, que a su vez corresponda con la adecuación de esta para una sociedad en constante cambio.
