This paper analyzes how the defeated, through the periodical Ocios de Emigrados Españoles (London, 1824-27), turned their attention to the problem and, with a clear component of nostalgia for what could have been and was not, built a memory of the recent past capable of identifying the keys main processes of the fall of the liberal regime, among which there was barely room for self-criticism.Las causas del colapso del Trienio Liberal están claramente vinculadas con la intervención militar francesa de 1823, que contó con el respaldo de las potencias absolutistas. Sin embargo, otros factores influyeron en el fracaso del proyecto iniciado en 1820, tanto de carácter externo, como interno.
