Summary: |
The forest diversity of Portugal has been threatened over the past decades, the result of human interventions in environmental accidents. The accelerated degradation due to fires, floods and other disasters resulting, among
other things, climate change, little interest regulations and policies on conservation of green spot featuring Portugal.
Thus constitute objectives of this article the description of the main species present in the country and the regulatory
developments in the Portuguese forest planning. The methodology followed an exploratory and descriptive analysis
centered on a literature review of the major national legal standards. The period under review took place between
1900 and 2015.
The main results point to more punitive measures for violators of the law, a more consistent legislation with the lack
of social responsibility of the Portuguese for their forest resources and more and better monitoring of forests and
Portuguese forests. |
