The article presents a journey from the background of the digital document to the proposed communication protocols, such as technical requirement for the submission of legal case onlineDepois de vinte anos de utilização da Internet no âmbito judicial por parte de advogados, juristas e juízes, chegou o momento de começar com um desafio maior: transformar o processo judicial com um olhar criativo no suporte eletrônico, no qual implementar a interoperabilidade entre os sistemas informáticos para o intercâmbio de documentos será fundamental para a mudança. O artigo apresenta um panorama desde os antecedentes do documento digital até a proposta de um protocolo de comunicação como requisito técnico para a apresentação de escritos judiciais online.Luego de veinte años de utilización de Internet en el ámbito judicial por parte de abogados, juristas y jueces, ha llegado el momento de comenzar con un desafío mayor: transformar el proceso judicial con una mirada creativa en el soporte electrónico, en el que implementar la interoperabilidad entre los sistemas informáticos para el intercambio de documentos será la clave para el cambio.
